The Purposeful Sequenced Order of the Beatitudes, their “Mentalities, & Concluding Questions

Why are the Beatitudes sequenced as they are?  Each one fully prepares you for the next.

God be mercifulThe Poor in Spirit: We cannot enter into a realistic relationship with God until we comprehend his greatness and grandeur and, simultaneously, our poverty and insignificance in comparison to him.  Yet, regardless of these two infinite extremes, God seeks a personal relationship with each one of us, although we are minute spiritual beggars before him.  He yearns to enlarge us with his amazing spiritual riches.

Those who Mourn: After we have encountered our Supreme and Caring Creator, Mourninghow  can we not turn life’s problems and wearying burdens to him?  When we arrive at this mindset to release our burdens to Christ and depend totally on him the heavenly consolation of this Beatitude becomes reality. Life becomes so much easier!


The Meek: Once we transfer the weights of our world to Christ, we know that He can manage our life infinitely better than the “mighty me” that strives to dominate our every decision. Put the “me” in the back seat and let Jesus become our designated driver.

Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness sake: We have set aside three God's  Word gives lightmajor distractions: spiritual pride, emotional and spiritual burdens, and an addictive preoccupation with self.  Our primary desire is to know and experience God more deeply every day.  We dive into and dine upon his Word—The Scripture and Jesus Living in us.

_64857147_jesus-(ferdinand-kingsley)-The Merciful:  Banqueting on God’s Word unlocks the deep expanses of his justice, mercy, and grace.  His standard of Justice in holy and perfect, His Mercy motivated our salvation, and His Grace fully satisfied Justice and Mercy. God’s unconditional love resurrects our lives.

The Pure in Heart:  Our deep comprehension of God stimulates supreme confidence toThe cross in your heart open up our heart and plea for his intimate scrutiny to reveal any secret, resilient, or unknown sin impeding a full relationship with him.  We want a pure heart! With those sins identified and confessed we are now totally transparent before God. We see him and the world through his eyes.  Also we desire to purify every relationship we have on earth.

The Peacemakers:  Our view of the world is the same as Christ’s and his burden vine & branchesbecomes our burden. We are protagonists of his peace and ready for spiritual “battle” to promote his peace with all in our pathway. His heart is our heart!

The Persecuted:  Effective peacemaking brings persecution in this world. We must be prepared and expectant for any evil opposition that confronts us. Every aspect of our being is now in tune with God.  Our only desire is to be with God whether here or “there”.

Each Beatitudes prepares us for and leads us to the next! 

The Mind of Christ

The Beatitude Mentalities

Each Beatitude attitude is in reality a “mentality” acquired through the sincere experience of each one.

 The poor in spirit:  I recognize my spiritual poverty which will result in heavenly riches.

 Those who mourn:  I release all my hurts and worries to him.

 The meek:  I submit myself to Jesus and turn the cheek, and will never be derailed from his will.

Those that hunger and thirst for righteousness:  I maintain a stay hungry feast on God’s Word.

The merciful:  Let his mercy fill me and flood through me to others.

 The peacemakers:  I will be a piece of God’s peace on this earth.

Those persecuted for righteousness sake:  I am ready and willing to give it all up for Christ right now!

Peace beyond beliefLet the Beatitudes become God’s attitude in you.

Be in full fellowship with Him.  Become the “who” He created you to be.  Let God see his beauty in you! Become a hero and difference maker in this world as he changes you every single day!

His spirit will become your beloved Master and master you more each day.

Commit to the quest to be all that you were meant to be in Christ, because at the end, you’ll be so glad you did!accross the bridge

The Beatitudes–The Conclusion (Part 1 of 2)

Java Printingare not won for once and forever, yet they are God’s permanent character infused in us. We, as humans, will still fall, fail, and flounder, but the Beatitudes will define our lives, passion, and commitment to live out God’s purpose in us. They will keep us strong and spiritually robust, prepared to rightly handle life’s challenges, and enable us to live life to the fullest with our God. Our quest is far from over; in fact, it has only begun.

Continue to revisit each of the Beatitudes again and again, to allow its truth and vigor to replenish and sweeten your continuing pilgrimage with Our Lord until we reach the end, which is really just our beginning in eternity.

Let’s consider the Beatitudes in couplets.

Jesus is the Center Piece of each Beatitude—the great  I am- 2

Forget Your Past—Leave Sin and Sorrow behind:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God. We find God after we grasp his holiness and grandeur and how unworthy and undeserving we are. God’s all-surpassing greatness must occupy center stage of our life. We are spiritual beggars. The sole possession we carry into the land of the Beatitudes is the cross of Christ. We leave in his hands all our past sins and any spiritual pride. Our poverty is self, yet great spiritual riches await us as we embark into the vast Land of the Beatitudes.

starry night -5 Recognize God for all he is, and your desperate position before him.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. When life’s tragedies assault us we turn to God for his all-surpassing grace, strength, and peace that exceed human comprehension. Jesus is our well and only his soul-saturating comfort can enable us to leave our mourning behind. The deep message of this Beatitude is total and complete dependence on God every single day. We desire to extend the heavenly comfort of Christ to others and intercede for those who are hurting.Jesus hug

 Turn all your burdens over to Christ and depend totally on him every single day.



Focus First on God—Forget Self and Feast on the Word:

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. We are not of this world, but of the heavenly realm where our true citizenship resides. Seeking self is left behind. The “mighty me” has been put in our back seat and the “gentle strength” of Jesus become clearly visible in us. Our “turn the cheek” mentality permits no earthly or selfish distraction can deter us worship in the spiritfrom our heavenly purpose. Our great joy is Jesus consuming us more each day. His brilliance increases as our light diminishes.

 Give Christ the preeminent position in your life.



Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. The major spiritual distractions are gone: spiritual pride, wearisome burdens, and our dominating self. We forget the past and focus on God. A ravenous appetite rises to savor the delicacies of his Word. Scrumptious morsels await us! We dive daily and deeper in hisJeus bread Word and God will fill us to overflowing. We dine daily on the written Word, and Jesus, the Living Word. Our craving is to discover all we can about God!

Feast fully on the bountiful provisions of God’s message to you.

Fellowship Fully with Your Lord—Fill Yourself with His Presence:

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. We are mercy-filled by Christ. His mercy resurrects our soul and compels us to share that same mercy with others. His love reaches out even to our most awful offenders. Mercy conquers negative confrontations and will astonish with God’s unconditional love. As we allow God’s Spirit to fill us, his Jesus and sinful womanpardoning power is embedded in our being.

 Allow his mercy to consume you with a passion for forgiveness.




Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Purity before God enables the closest communion possible. God’s Holy Light has purified us and purged us of any obstinate ungodliness within. Now we can resist the enticing attractions of this world and preserve purity in our thought-life, motivation, and innermost desires. We are totally transparent before him, and in all our relationships with others. We see God and see the world as he sees it. Our desire is to be his effective instruments on earth!feed the life I'm trying to live

Be totally transparent before God as he transforms you into his perfect purpose!





Find His Burning Heart—and Let It Consume You:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Peacemakers are God’s diplomats on earth, consumed with passion to promote his peace. They are the children of God implanting his love in lives of all around them and reconciling people to him. Jesus is “the vine” and we are his branches. We branch out to others and bring them to Christ. Effective peacemaking is accomplished in the strength, leadership, and wisdom of the Lord. Peace- making demands courage and risk, but what mighty rewards result!

 Jesus is the vine   Become a soldier in this battle and plant peace in the lives of all around you.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Our identity is in heaven. We are set apart in this world and make a stand every day for Christ that marks us as different. Persecution “all at once” or “daily in pieces” magnifies our witness and glorifies Our Father. We are ready to bear all injustice,hands in cuffs1 ridicule, and consequences for him. The consuming fire of God’s heart burns within us to bring the world to him through Christ! My God use us push back the frontiers of evil in this world.

Be prepared for persecution as you proclaim Jesus Christ every single day.




May we all strive to BEcome all we can in Christ, delighting in the deepest and closest communion with him and being used as powerful instruments to enlarge his kingdom. The purpose and reward of the Beatitudes are to be his “salt” and “light” to make a difference in this world.
